THE CONTINENT EDITION
The story is set in 19th Century Africa – an alternate history; the history that could have been if the Europeans who came to colonise the continent were defeated by the Africans.
Set in the prosperous kingdom nation of Jangwa, The Continent’s story follows the action packed exploits of Ikoyo, a renowned warrior of Jangwa who falls for the charms of the crown princess. It is this association with the princess that leads Ikoyo to fall foul of Hita, the crown prince and heir to the throne, and inadvertently thrusts Ikoyo into the middle of palace intrigues, political machinations, and danger.
The Continent’s story takes place in the fictitious kingdom nation of Jangwa. Jangwa is a well organised, trade nation, rich in natural resources, culture, and centuries old traditions.
Jangwa is a hierarchical society and at the top are the Lords, from whose ranks comes the ruler of Jangwa – the Lord Supreme.
The warriors of Jangwa come second. Fierce, skilled in battle, and armed with magic spears that change in length at a warrior’s will, their allegiance is to Jangwa, and their duty is to protect the kingdom.
Next in the social order is the council of elders, representatives of the general public. They offer counsel to the Lord Supreme on matters of law and tradition.
And then there are the Revered; medicine men, healers, and sorcerers. The sorcerers, rarely seen, are the custodians of Jangwa magic.
